Paying a visit to history itself: Tasca d’Almerita wines

Ciccio Sultano and his team have recently visited the Regaleali Estate, in order to taste some wines that make and will continue to make the history of a family of noble farmers and winemakers, deeply tied to the territory.
Their strong sense of belonging, together with an instinctive projection towards the future, made it possible to be early experimenters and to aim for great results.
The tasting comprised two representative wines, such as the Chardonnay 2018 Vigna San Francesco, grown in the high hills, with a sharp taste, and the Rosso del Conte, based on Nero d’Avola and Perricone, through a roundup of vintages from 1983 to 2016. This latter is a pretty emblematic wine, starting from its name, Rosso del Conte, that can be described as vibrant in its youth and sumptuously elegant over the years.
The focus then shifted towards Etna, on three distinct Nerello Mascalese 2017 which belong to as many districts. On Etna, the variable composition of the soil, given by the different eruptions, enhances the identity of each lot.
The tasting experience included the Pianodario, floral and juicy; the Sciaranuova, finely rustic and ethereal; the Rampante, powerful and wild.
A common feature of Tasca wines is the ability to express themselves through a structured body and natural elegance.
